The Anatomy of the Aging Face
As the face ages, the fat pads in the cheeks start to split apart. The lower one falls and causes the appearance of jowls. Additionally fat is lost in the mid cheek and bone loss occurs in the cheek causing hollowing. Adding Voluma XC into this area will help lift the cheek and make the fat pads appear more uniform. Volume loss in the chin area also contributes to the appearance of jowls. Placing Voluma in this area can help. Loss of volume below the mouth causes the appearance of "marionette" lines named after the wooden puppets. Having marionette lines even shallow ones, makes a person appear sad. Adding a small amount of Juvederm or other dermal filler in the corners of the mouth and marionette lines will make the mouth look more neutral and make a person appear younger than their stated age.
